Aaron Kimmel

Aaron Kimmel (* around 1990 in Hollidaysburg , Pennsylvania ) is an American modern jazz musician ( drums ) .

Live and act

Kimmel attended Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. He took lessons from his father Stephen and from Jim Chapin , Ed Shaughnessy and Joe Morello . During his time in high school, he was twice awarded the Down Beat Student Music Award ( Outstanding Jazz Soloist ). He received his Bachelor of Music from the Juilliard School , where he had lessons with Kenny Washington and Billy Drummond ; then he worked as a freelance musician in New York City in the jazz clubs Smalls and Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola with musicians such as Ken Peplowski , Benny Green , Harry Allen , Eric Alexander , Joe Magnarelli , Ehud Asherie , Terell Stafford , Ryan Kisor , Toshiko Akiyoshi , Jerry Weldon , Jimmy Heath , Bill Pierce , Robin Eubanks , Brian Lynch , Ann Hampton Callaway , Mary Stallings , Mike LeDonne , Peter Zak , Frank Wess , Hilary Kole , Dan Block , Veronica Swift , Clovis Nicolas and Jon Faddis . The first recordings were made in 2013 with Leon Redbone / Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks. In the field of jazz he was involved in eight recording sessions between 2013 and 2017, most recently with Alexander Claffy ( Standards - What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life ).
