Abel Ribeiro Camelo

Abel Ribeiro Camelo (born September 22, 1902 in Silvânia , Goiás , Brazil ; † November 24, 1966 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Goiás .

Life

Abel Ribeiro Camelo received on 8 May 1927, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 6, 1946, Pope Pius XII appointed him . as titular bishop of Curium and auxiliary bishop in Goiás. The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Carlo Chiarlo , donated him episcopal ordination on October 27 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Goiás, Emanuel Gomes de Oliveira SDB , and the prelate of Registro do Araguaia , José Selva e Amaral SDB.

On January 17, 1957 Pope Pius XII appointed him. to the Bishop of Jataí . Pope John XXIII appointed him on May 14, 1960 Bishop of Goiás.

Abel Ribeiro Camelo participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
