Adalberto Martínez Flores

Adalberto Martínez Flores (born July 8, 1951 in Asunción ) is a Paraguayan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Villarrica del Espíritu Santo .

Life

The coadjutor bishop of Saint Thomas , Seán Patrick O'Malley OFMCap , ordained him on April 7, 1985 as a deacon and on August 24, 1985 as a priest of the diocese of Saint Thomas. In 1993 he was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Asunción .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Asunción and titular bishop of Tatilti on August 14, 1997 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Asunción, Felipe Santiago Benítez Ávalos , on November 8th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Sean Patrick O'Malley OFMCap, Bishop of Fall River , and Elliot Griffin Thomas , Bishop of Saint Thomas.

On May 18, 2000, he was appointed Bishop of San Lorenzo . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of San Pedro on February 19, 2007 . On March 14, 2012, he was appointed military bishop of Paraguay .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Villarrica del Espíritu Santo on June 23, 2018
