The number of chromosomes is 2n = 38.

Occurrence

Grauer Alpendost at the location in Northern Italy

The distribution area of Adenostyles alliariae includes Spain , France , Germany , Italy , Switzerland , Austria , the Czech Republic , Poland , Slovakia , the Balkan Peninsula, Bulgaria , Romania , the Ukraine and Turkey .

The gray alpine east occurs on nitrogen-rich, lime-poor, base-rich soils in mountain forests and tall herbaceous areas . He is a Adenostyletalia Trim characteristic species (nitrogen-loving, montane Hochstaudenfluren), but also comes in Aceri-Fagetum ( Sycamore calcareous, high montane mixed beech forests ) in Ulmo-Aceretum (a ravine forest -Gesellschaft) or perennial rich Piceion (spruce forest) - plant communities before .

The gray alpine east can be found in the Alpine foothills and in the Alps at altitudes between 1000 and 2000 meters, in ravine forests it occurs up to 2100 meters. In the Allgäu Alps, it rises between Älpele and Rauheck in Bavaria at altitudes of up to 2200 meters. Outside of the Alpine region, it only occurs as an ice age relic .

Systematics

A synonym for Adenostyles alliariae (Gouan) core. is Adenostyles albifrons (L. f.) Reichenb.

One can distinguish the following subspecies:

  • Adenostyles alliariae (Gouan) A. Kern. subsp. alliariae
  • Adenostyles alliariae subsp. orientalis (Boiss.) Greuter (Syn .: Adenostyles orientalis Boiss. ): It occurs only in Greece and Macedonia .

Some authors still have the subspecies subsp. macrocephala , subsp. pyrenaica and subsp. briquetii placed on this species. According to Euro + Med, however, they are better to be compared to Adenostyles alpina .
