Adersbach is a village in the south of the Rhein-Neckar district in Baden-Württemberg , which has belonged to Sinsheim since 1971 .

history

Passage through Adersbach

In 1016 Adersbach was first mentioned as "Ademesbach". In the Middle Ages, the street village was owned by various landlords. In 1518, half of the village came to Dietrich and Pleikart von Gemmingen. From 1649 the Lords of Schmidberg are also mentioned. After the death of their last heir, Johann Friedrich Carl von Schmidberg (1759–1777), the lords of Gemmingen came into possession of the entire village through purchase and exchange. The place belonged to the knightly canton Kraichgau until the mediatization of the imperial knighthood in 1806 , afterwards as an independent municipality to Baden . In 1929 Baron von Gemmingen-Hornberg sold the Adersbach manor house and the associated area to private customers. In 1939 there were 308 inhabitants, at the end of 1945 there were 366. On December 1, 1971, the place was incorporated into Sinsheim .

Buildings

Adersbach town hall
  • The town hall was built in 1912 on the site of the old town hall that had burned down in 1588 and was temporarily also the fire station of the Adersbach volunteer fire brigade .
  • The Protestant Laurentius Church goes back to a Walpurgis chapel, attested to as early as the 13th century, and was essentially given its present-day appearance through the renovation of the nave in 1780/82 and the church tower in 1784/86. The nearby rectory was renovated around 1755 and is still surrounded by the remains of its historic farm buildings. Below the church is the old schoolhouse , which was built around 1850, was a school until 1971 and has been privately owned since 1979.
Manor house
  • The manor house is a half-timbered building and was built in 1630 by the barons of Gemmingen. The stately sheepfold and tithe barn , which have been privately owned since 1928, are still in the vicinity .
  • Opposite the manor house are the historic inns "Sonne" and "Rose". The "Sun" from 1707 is a stately building from the Baroque era with corner pilasters and an ornate portal. Other stately historical properties have been preserved in the village, including the building in Mittelstrasse 33 with a massive high cellar (approx. 1660) and half-timbered buildings that dates back to 1770.
