Adi Becker

Adolf "Adi" Becker (* 1969 in Adenau ) is a German arranger , conductor and jazz musician ( trombone ).

biography

Becker completed his studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance as a certified instrumentalist and as an arranger in the master’s course at the Mannheim University of Music . Becker has been playing as a trombonist in the Bundeswehr Big Band since 1998 , and is also active as a conductor, soloist, arranger and studio musician. Among other things, he participates in the orchestral project Tomburg Winds . In February 2019 Becker's first solo album Babbelou was released , with the participation of, among others, saxophonist Eric Marienthal , singer Jemma Endersby, and Grammy award winner George Whitty on keyboard.

Becker played with many well-known orchestras and solo artists, including Albert Mangelsdorff , Michael Brecker and David Liebman . He also worked with various entertainers such as Heino , Brings , Bill Ramsey , Captain Jack and the Bläck Fööss . He orchestrated music for various TV shows such as TV total or The Carmen Nebel Show .

As a juror , Becker oversees several music competitions such as the German Orchestra Competition or Jugend jazzt .
