Start in Düsseldorf / move to Cologne

Chihi started playing football at FC Tannenhof , a club based in the Düsseldorf district of Vennhausen . From 1995 to 2000 he played for the Düsseldorfer SV 04 before moving to the youth department of Fortuna Düsseldorf . For the 2004/05 season he moved to the youth department of 1. FC Cologne and was part of the professional squad at the start of the 2006/07 season . He made his professional debut on August 14, 2006 (1st matchday) in a 2-0 win in the away game against FC Augsburg . In his second league game, on August 20, 2006 (2nd matchday), he scored his first two goals in a 5-1 win at home against Wacker Burghausen . After an argument with coach Frank Schaefer on November 4, 2010, he was released for the second team. In December 2010 he was informed by Schaefer that he should look for a new club during the winter break, but for the second half of the season Chihi returned to the professional team and the starting eleven. Finally, an agreement was reached on a contract extension beyond the 2010/11 season .

Since his contract, which expired on June 30, 2014, was not renewed, Chihi completed a trial training session at the English second division club FC Blackpool in January 2014 , which, however, did not result in any obligation. Since no one could show him any prospects in the first team, he was transferred by head coach Peter Stöger to the second team of 1. FC Köln, with whom he could train until the end of the contract.

Fulham FC (England)

On July 23, 2014, the English second division FC Fulham, coached by Felix Magath , signed him up with a one-year contract. Chihi only played one league game in the 2014/15 season , which ended in a 1-1 draw on August 20, 2014 (5th matchday) in the home game against Cardiff City . After no new contract offer was made to him, he left the team and remained without a club until spring 2016.

Esteghlal FC (Iran)

During the current 2015/16 season he was signed by the Iranian club Esteghlal Tehran , for which he played five point games. He made his league debut on March 4, 2016 (22nd matchday) in a 1-0 win in the away game against Rah Ahan with a substitution for Mohammad Reza Khorsandnia in the 72nd minute.

FSV Frankfurt

For the 2016/17 season he was signed by FSV Frankfurt , who had been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 30, 2018.

IR Tangier (Morocco)

On January 4, 2017, Chihi moved to Morocco to IR Tangier . His contract ran until summer 2018 and returned to Germany after the contract expired in June 2018.

FSV Duisburg

On September 4, 2019, he signed a contract with FSV Duisburg in the Landesliga Niederrhein and celebrated his debut on September 8, 2019 after substitution in the 80th minute against Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 .

National team

In 2005 Chihi took part in the Junior World Championship held in the Netherlands from June 10 to July 2, 2005 and reached the semi-finals with the Moroccan U-20 selection team, which were lost 3-0 against the Nigerian selection . In the four tournament games in which he was used, he scored in the second group game in the win against the Honduran selection with the hit to the 5-0 final score in the 90th minute, his only tournament goal.

On August 20, 2008, he made his debut for the senior national team , which won the test international against Benin 3-1 in Rabat .

In March 2010 Chihi declared that she wanted to play for the German national team in the future; however, there was no use.
