Adolf Lukeschitsch

Adolf Lukeschitsch (born January 25, 1902 in Wilfersdorf , Lower Austria ; † November 18, 1972 in Villach , Carinthia ) was an Austrian doctor and politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Adolf Lukeschitsch first attended elementary school in Strebersdorf , now a part of the Vienna municipal district of Floridsdorf . After graduating from high school in Kalksburg - today part of Liesing - Lukeschitsch studied medicine at the University of Vienna . In 1926 he received his doctorate . His specialties were surgery and obstetrics . He joined the NSDAP on April 19, 1933 and was therefore considered an " old fighter ". After initially working as a specialist in Vienna, he came to Villach, where he became chief physician at the local hospital in 1936 .

After the war, Lukeschitsch also went into politics when he was elected ÖVP party chairman in Villach. It was also the ÖVP Carinthia who made Lukeschitsch a member of the Federal Council in March 1953 . He was a member of the Austrian provincial chamber until June 1956.
