Adolf Winkelmann (director)
Adolf Winkelmann (born April 10, 1946 in Hallenberg ) is a German film director , film producer and professor of film design (conception and draft) in the design department at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . His cinema and television films have received numerous awards.
Life
At the age of three, Winkelmann moved with his parents to Dortmund, where, with the exception of his academic years from 1965 to 1968, he has lived at the Werkkunstschule Kassel. Winkelmann was one of the founders of the Kassel film collective together with his then wife Jutta Winkelmann and their twin sister Gisela Getty and Gerhard Büttenbender .
Many of his feature films are set in his hometown.
As part of the RUHR.2010 project , Winkelmann designed and implemented a video installation on the Dortmunder U building, which went into operation in May 2010.
In 2003, Adolf Winkelmann was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy .
