In his reports on major business trips to Italy and Russia, he showed the gift of seeing correctly and presenting the day appropriately. The assessment of his effectiveness on the part of his former commanding general of the IV Army Corps, with whom he is currently serving as Chief of the General Staff, is probably satisfied with his performance.
