Adrian Catrinoi Cornea (born May 11, 1979 in Gheorgheni ) is a Romanian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Steaua Bucharest in the Romanian ice hockey league since 2002 .
Career
Club
Adrian Catrinoi Cornea began his career at Steaua Bucharest , for whom he made his debut in the Romanian ice hockey league in the 1999/2000 season . After playing for the CS Progym Gheorgheni from his hometown in 2001/02 , he returned to the capital club in 2002, for which he has been in the box ever since. With Steaua he became Romanian champion in 2003, 2005 and 2006 and won the cup competition in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2011 . For several years he played with Steaua in the multinational MOL league .
International
For Romania, Catrinoi Cornea took part in the junior division in the U18-B-European championship in 1996 and the U18-C-European championship in 1997 , when he was voted the best player of his team, as well as in the U20-D world championship in 1999 .
He was part of the men's national team for the first time at the 2003 World Cup , when he was not used in Division I. He made his first World Cup appearances in 2005 when he and his team were relegated from Division I. He then played in the title fights in 2006 , 2008 , when he achieved the second-best catch quota and the second lowest goals against goals after his compatriot Szabolcs Molnár , 2010 , 2011 , when he again had the second best capture quota and the second lowest goals against goals of the tournament, this time after the Croatian Mate Tomljenović , and 2015 in Division II. After promotions in the meantime, he joined Division I in 2007 , 2012 , 2013 and 2014 .
He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi .
