Adrianus Eversen
Adrianus Eversen (born January 13, 1818 in Amsterdam , † December 1, 1897 in Delft ) was a Dutch painter and draftsman of old Dutch cityscapes . Architecture and light played the main roles in his pictures.
Eversen and Hendrik Gerrit ten Cate (1803-1856) apprenticed to the architecture and vedute painter Cornelius Springer . In contrast to his master, who faithfully depicts reality, the romantic Eversen occasionally let his imagination run wild in his cityscapes. Eversen also learned his trade from Cornelis de Kruyff (1774–1828). Working in the tradition of Jan van der Heyden and Isaac Ouwater (1748–1793) in Amsterdam, he also exhibited in The Hague , Leeuwarden , Bremen (in the 1860s), Dresden (1871 and 1880), Berlin (1880) and in Vienna (1882). Eversen was a member of the artists' association Arti et Amicitiae .
The painter Johannes Hendrik Eversen (1906–1995) was a descendant of Eversen.
