Adrianus Sunarko OFM (born December 7, 1966 in Merauke , Papua , Indonesia ) is an Indonesian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Pangkal-Pinang .

Life

Adrianus Sunarko joined the Franciscan order in, put on 15 August 1994, the profession , and received on 8 July 1995, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After a short Kaplan activity in the Archdiocese of Jakarta , he went in 1996 for six years for postgraduate studies at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg , where he in 2002 with a dissertation on the development of the understanding of revelation of Edward Schillebeeckx and its consequences for his understanding of the church to Dr. theol. received his doctorate . From 2002 he was a lecturer at the Driyarkara Philosophical College in Jakarta. From 2004 to 2007 he was Provincial Definitor and from 2007 to 2009 Vice Provincial of the Indonesian Franciscans. Since 2010 he has been Provincial and since 2014 also President of the Conference of Major Superiors of the Indonesian Male Orders.

On June 28, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Pangkal-Pinang. The Archbishop of Palembang , Aloysius Sudarso SCI , donated him episcopal ordination on September 23rd of the same year at the Depati Amir stadium in Pangkal Pinang . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Jayapura , Leo Laba Ladjar OFM, and the Bishop of Tanjungkarang , Yohanes Harun Yuwono .
