African Network Information Center
AfriNIC is the responsible Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for Africa .
AfriNIC, based in Ebène City , Mauritius , was provisionally recognized by ICANN on October 11, 2004 and began its service on February 22, 2005. It was finally officially recognized in April 2005.
In doing so, she takes over the Africa agendas previously held by RIPE NCC and APNIC .
