Agatha Christie's Marple is a British television series on the ITV . Geraldine McEwan played the leading role as Agatha Christie's Miss Marple from 2004 to 2007 . From 2009 until the end of the series, Miss Marple was played by Julia McKenzie .
General
As a contrast to the BBC's Miss Marple films from the 80s and as a supplement to the crime series Agatha Christie's Poirot , which is also broadcast on ITV , the same production company Chorion produces the series Agatha Christie's Marple . It is co-produced with the US television stations WGBH Boston, ITV Productions and Agatha Christie Ltd.
Agatha Christie's Marple is loosely based on the book and short story series with the title heroine Miss Marple by Agatha Christie. For reasons of age, leading actress Geraldine McEwan has retired after three seasons, to be replaced by Julia McKenzie in 2008 . Well-known actors such as Derek Jacobi , Julian Sands , Jane Seymour , Frances de la Tour , Herbert Lom and Joan Collins appear in the individual episodes of the series . Initially, six films were dubbed in German and shown on MDR and NDR , from June 17, 2019 the pay TV channel Sony Channel in Germany broadcast the series, for which all episodes were re-dubbed. From October 9, 2019 to March 25, 2020, the WDR showed all episodes weekly on Wednesday evening on the ARD channel one, mostly as free TV premieres in HD with new synchronization.
In some cases, novels by Agatha Christie were also filmed for the series in which Miss Marple does not originally appear at all, e.g. B. All Lovely Old Ladies , The Secret of Sittaford , Fatal Error, and Just Before Midnight .
Recurring characters
The German synchronization in version 2004-2007 was in four episodes of dialogue books and under the dialogue director of Matthias Grimm and in two episodes of Renate Pichler Grimm by the synchronous company Hamburg synchronous . The 2019 version was created based on dialogue books by Ulrich Georg , Wolfgang Seifert and Gerd Naumann and directed by Gerd Naumann by the dubbing company Brandtfilm in Berlin .
