geography

course

The Ahringsbach rises at an altitude of about 483  m above sea level. NHN in a coniferous forest on the site of the Irmenach district directly on the north side of the L 190 and a good 250 m south-southeast of the site of a Roman villa . It flows first in a northerly direction through coniferous forest and is reinforced to the right and left by a series of further spring branches. After a run of a good 900 m, the Lomersbach , which is about twice as long and is also called the stream from the Muschheck , flows to him on his right side, coming from the east-south-east . From there the brook carries the name Lomersbach up to the Rauenberg . The unified brook now runs along the boundary from Irmenach on the left to Lötzbeuren on the right, continuing in a northerly direction, now through deciduous forest. It is strengthened in the Waldflur In der Lomersbach from the right by the Buchifer raft and shortly thereafter also from the right by the Giersener raft . His further path leads past the Giersener Schlunk , shortly after which he changes to the north-northwest. He then passes the ruins of the upper mill and a little further down the stream at the Brücker mill , the Tatschbach, coming from the south, flows to him on his left .

Then the valley-crossing county road from Lötzbeuren to Irmenach (K 133) runs over it and it flows on the southwest slope of the Äppelsheller Kopf past the ruins of the Mittelmühle and then through the Gewann Unter der Mittelsten Mühle . He now changes his direction to the west and passes the ruins of the Maria-Jakobsmühle on the south bank. His path continues to mark the boundary of the district. The brook, which now bears the name Ahringsbach again , runs along the southern slope of the Rauenberg and changes its course in a northerly direction at the ruins of the Dennerwiesenmühle . Already three hundred meters downhill, at the Marienhellermühle ruins , the brook takes a hook to the west, here Traben-Trarbach replaces Lötzbeuren as residents on the right bank . After only half a kilometer, the brook takes a more northerly direction. In the corridor in the Enkircher Bach it is fed on its right by the Steierbach , in the direction of which it flows westwards. Shortly thereafter, the Ehlenseifenbach coming from the south flows to him on his left and a little later on the same side the Trabener Waldbach . In north-western course after he passed the Upper Starkenburger mill , at the soon following Starkenburger mill only strengthened him the Starkenburger Mühlbach on his left side, right after that on the right side of the Grünnelsseifen .

From here on the left bank lies on the Traben-Trarbacher district, soon the lower valley slope on this side. The stream now runs north-north-west and flows through a narrow valley east of Starkenburg , which lies on the ridge of the valley of the Moselle, which now runs parallel to the west, only one kilometer away. Then he passes the Ahringsmühle and walks along the eastern slope of the Geißberg . It now reaches the southeastern tip of Enkirch , flows west of the Schockenkopf ( 210.4 m above sea level ) along the valley spur shared with the previous left Großbach tributary, then passes the Klostermühle , crosses the state road descending  from the left ridge from Starkenburg ( L 192) and finally joins the state road that turns west to the Moselle valley at an altitude of about 111  m above sea level. NHN from the left into the Großbach , which itself flows less than one and a half kilometers down the valley into the Moselle .
