Aigen is a village in the market town of Hernstein in Lower Austria with 365 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

Today's place consists of two settlements that have grown together: Vorderaigen and Hinteraigen. At the site of Hinteraigen was originally the place Odelansdorf , which became deserted at the end of the 15th century. At the place of Vorderaigen presumably the place Arnoldsdorf was originally (some however equate it with Alkersdorf ), which in 1515 was also referred to as desert. Resettlement began in 1569. In 1590 the place already had 19 houses. The "two Aigen" (so called in 1787) grew together. In 1795 there were 30 houses and at the end of the 19th century a total of 53 houses.
