Albert Holl

Albert Holl (born April 5, 1890 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ; † May 27, 1970 ibid) was a German engraver , medalist and sculptor .

Albert Holl was born in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 1890. His father was a teacher at the Gmünder Gewerbeschule , which Albert Holl attended from 1907 to 1912 after training as a steel engraver. After a stay in Paris in 1911/12, he attended the arts and crafts school in Munich in 1913/14 . During the First World War, the officer's leg was crushed in 1915 in the Argonne , which was then amputated. From 1922 he headed the sculpture class of the State Higher Technical School for Precious Metals in Schwäbisch Gmünd, where he also received the title of professor.

In 1922, Holl became head of the sculpture class at the State Higher Technical School for Precious Metals in Schwäbisch Gmünd, where he was also appointed professor. Until his retirement in 1955, he taught in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
