Alberto Silvani (born September 6, 1946 in Virgoletta (district of Villafranca in Lunigiana ), Province of Massa-Carrara , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Volterra .

Life

On October 3, 1970, Silvani received the sacrament of ordination . He then went to Rome for further studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University . Alberto Silvani obtained a licentiate in Catholic theology there in 1971 .

From 1972 to 1992 he worked in the pastoral care of Gassano and Corlaga. In 1992 Silvani was appointed chaplain to His Holiness . Alberto Silvani was the Regens of the Massa Carrara Seminary from 1996 to 2005 .

On May 8, 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Volterra. The bishop of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli , Eugenio Binini , gave him episcopal ordination on June 29th of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Pisa , Alessandro Plotti , and Silvani's predecessor in office, Mansueto Bianchi .
