Albin de la Simone (born December 14, 1970 in Amiens , Picardy ) is a French chansonnier .

Life

After studying sculpture at the Institut Saint Luc de Tournai, he began a career as a pianist , mainly for jazz . He was influenced by his father, a clarinetist who specialized in New Orleans jazz. He had also previously been a student at CIM , a school for jazz and contemporary music, where he played in an orchestra and learned to arrange. His very own style manifested itself, for example, through an instrument that he called "Helmut". He worked as a pianist and as an arranger with numerous artists, for example with Mathieu Boogaerts , Arthur H , Raphaël , Jean-Louis Aubert , Salif Keïta , Alain Souchon , Alain Chamfort , Vanessa Paradis and Iggy Pop .

In 2000 he started writing his own chansons. In 2003 he gave his first concerts, in which he also sang, in Japan, in support of a tour by Mathieu Boogaerts. In September his first album was released on the Virgin label . He sang a duet each with Feist and Alain Souchon . In 2005 he appeared in the opening act for -M- and played concerts with Pascal Colomb. His second album Je Vais Changer was released in May. From 2007 to 2008 he accompanied Keren Ann on a small tour Vanessa Paradis . His third album Bungalow! appeared on the Cinq7 / Wagram label. He started a tour accompanied by a band.
