Albrecht Heinrich Matthias Cooking
Albrecht Heinrich Matthias Cooking (also just Albrecht Cooking ; born March 25, 1776 in Kiel , † June 21, 1847 in Flensburg ) was a German Protestant theologian and clergyman .
Life
Cooking received his education from 1792 at the Princely School in Pforta . He stayed there until 1796. From 1797 to 1800 he studied law , then theology at the universities of Kiel , Leipzig and Jena . In Jena he was in 1799 with the dissertation Annotationes in Joan. Boanergis testamentum for Dr. phil. PhD . In 1801 he completed his habilitation at Kiel University and briefly taught philosophy as a private lecturer , passed his first theological exam in the same year and became a private tutor in Altona .
Cooking started his career as a clergyman in 1802. In 1802 he became a deacon at the town church in Glückstadt and in 1806 chief pastor at the St. Bartholomew Church in Wilster . In 1816 he followed a call as senior pastor at St. Petri Church in Copenhagen . In 1817, based on the dissertation De finibus extemporalis dicendi facultatis quatenus e certis principiis rationis et eloquentiae iisdem superstructae constitui queant at the Kiel University, he received his doctorate as Dr. theol.
Cooking followed a call to Eutin in 1824 . There he became superintendent of the leading clergyman of the Evangelical Church , senior pastor at the St. Michaelis Church , Lübeck consistorial councilor and grand ducal Oldenburg court preacher. In 1839 he was at his own request in the retirement staggered. He spent his retirement in Plön and Flensburg.
