Juschny ( Russian Южный , initially Aralskoje, German  Alexwangen ) is a district of the Russian city of Swetlogorsk in the Kaliningrad Oblast .

In this district is the Svetlogorsk municipal unit enterprise Uprawljajuschtschaja kompanija shilishchno-Kommunalnowo Khosjaistva (ru. Управляющая компания жилищно-коммунального.

Geographical location

As the name Juschny (Eng. "Southern") suggests, this is the southernmost district of the city of Svetlogorsk , which is four kilometers southeast of its beach promenade. It is located immediately north of the junction of the municipal road 27K-158 to Pionerski from the federal road A 217, which has replaced the four-lane regional road 27A-014 (ex A 192 ) in the immediate vicinity of the adjoining Primorskoje Kolzo (also federal road A 217) .

Two kilometers south of Juzhny, in Zelenogradsk Raion, is the village of Aralskoye , to which the local branch Alexwangen also belonged immediately after the Second World War.

history

The former Gutsdorf Alexwangen was founded in 1370. In 1874 it became part of the newly established district of Sankt Lorenz (today in Russian: Salskoje) and belonged to the Fischhausen district (1939 to 1945 Samland district ) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

On July 9, 1895, from the previously köllmischen Good Alexwangen the Gutsbezirk formed Alexwangen. In 1910 there were 78 inhabitants here. On December 1, 1928, Alexwangen lost its independence when it merged with the neighboring town of Sankt Lorenz (Russian: Salskoje) to form the new rural community of Sankt Lorenz.

In 1945 Alexwangen was assigned to northern East Prussia of the Soviet Union and in 1950 was given the Russian name "Aralskoje". At the same time, the place was included in the Romanovsky village soviet in Primorsk Raion . Before 1976 the place was incorporated as Juschny in the city of Svetlogorsk.

church

Due to the majority Protestant population, Alexwangen was integrated into the parish of the parish church in Sankt Lorenz (today Russian: Salskoje), which belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today there are two Russian Orthodox churches in Svetlogorsk .
