Alessandro Gassmann (also: Alessandro Gassman, Alessandro Bellacanzone; born February 24, 1965 in Rome ) is an Italian actor .

Life

Alessandro Gassmann, illegitimate child of the actor Vittorio Gassman and the actress Juliette Mayniel , made his acting debut in 1982 in the film Di padre in figlio (“From father to son”), a strongly autobiographical film made with friends and family members . a. was co-directed by Alessandro and his father. He later studied at the Theater Workshop in Florence . In 1984 he appeared in Pier Paolo Pasolini's play Affabulazione . He then made his first film appearances under the pseudonym Alessandro Bellacanzone . In 1997 he played the leading role in Ferzan Özpetek's award-winning feature film Hamam - The Turkish Bath . He shot various TV series and was seen in the 2005 film Transporter - The Mission, directed by Luc Besson .

He has been married to actress Sabrina Knaflitz since June 7, 1998 . The two have a son, Leo (* 1998).
