Alexander Höchst

Alexander Höchst (born July 3, 1962 in Bad Saarow ) is a German actor .

Life

Education and theater

Höchst initially did an apprenticeship as a fitter. From 1984 to 1988 he completed an acting training at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam in the Babelsberg district .

He made his debut as a theater actor in 1988 at the Städtisches Theater Karl-Marx-Stadt . There he appeared in Romeo and Juliet (1988) and Spring Awakening (1989, as Hänschen Rilow).

He had festival and guest engagements at the Volksbühne Berlin (1991; in the comedy Das Sparschwein by Eugène Labiche ), at the Freie Kammerspiele Magdeburg (1994/1995), several times at the Thuringian State Theater Eisenach (1995 as Orlando in As You Like It and 1998 as Karl Moor in Die Räuber ), at the Kleist-Theater Frankfurt (Oder) (1996; title role in Amphitryon ), at the Theater des Ostens (2000; 2001/02), at the Kunsthaus Tacheles (season 2005/06, as Marquis von Posa in Don Karlos ), at the Orphtheater (2007/08), at Theater 89 (several times since 1997). At Theater 89, Höchst appeared in a stage version of the novel Die Marquise von O .... (2002/03 season) and in Jugend ohne Gott (2010). At the Landestheater Neustrelitz he played the title role of Galileo Galilei in Life of Galilei by Bertolt Brecht (seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16). At the Theater Fürth he took over in 2016 the title role of Homo Faber by Max Frisch . At the Staatstheater Cottbus he will appear in the 2017/18 season as Rudolph in Winter Solstice by Roland Schimmelpfennig and as Reverend Hale in Witch Hunt by Arthur Miller . Since 2014 he has been playing at the Klassikertage in Wismar . In the 2018 season he took over the title role in The Dragon from Evgeny Schwarz .

In addition to his theater work, Höchst repeatedly receives teaching assignments at various drama schools a. a. from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

Movie and TV

He made his cinema debut in 1988 in the fairytale film The Story of the Goose Princess and her Faithful Horse Falada , where he played the role of "Prince Ivo".

His most important film role was played by maximum next Annekathrin citizens in the 1990/1991 for the DFF twisted film drama The rest that remains , played a mature woman in the maximum the essential younger 23-year-old lover. Höchst turned out to be a “sensitive, precisely characterizing actor”.

Höchst had episode roles in the television series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei (1997), Kommissar Schimpanski (1997) and The Last Witness (2006). He had a continuous series role from 2008 to 2011 as Dr. Marius Berg in the ARD series Dr. Kleist .

Private

Höchst's father was the actor and director Siegfried Höchst (1939–1991).
