Alexander Karachun (born March 3, 1995 in Gdansk ) is a German - Belarusian ice hockey player . He has been part of the Kassel Huskies from the DEL2 since 2019 .
career
Karachun has German and Belarusian citizenship. He is the son of the ice hockey professional Wiktar Karachun , who died in 2004 and was a Belarusian national player and played for various clubs in Germany. Alexander was born in Gdansk , Poland , where his father was under contract at Stoczniowiec Gdańsk . He cites Vladimir Tarassenko and Pawel Dazjuk as role models .
He played in the youth of the Heilbronner EC , his father's last club, and in 2010 moved to Austria to an ice hockey boarding school in Sankt Pölten . Three years later he returned to Heilbronn, received a professional contract in 2014 and completed his first assignments for the Falken in the DEL2 in the 2014/15 season . He also spent the 2015/16 season at EHC Freiburg in the second division.
In the spring of 2016, he accepted an offer from Grizzlys Wolfsburg from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). By means of a sponsorship license , he was granted the second game right for the DEL2 representative Eispiraten Crimmitschau .
