Derek Dinger (born March 28, 1987 in Kassel ) is a German ice hockey player who has been playing in the DEL2 for the Kassel Huskies again since the 2018/2019 season .
Career
The 1.83 m tall defender began his career with the ice hockey youth Kassel , from where he moved to the Eisbären Juniors Berlin at an early age . Here he completed his first DEL assignments in the 2005/06 season . With seven DEL appearances in the 2005/06 season and 16 DEL appearances in the 2006/07 season , Dinger was initially unable to claim a regular place. In order to get more ice age, the defender switched to the 2nd Bundesliga for REV Bremerhaven for the 2007/08 season .
For the 2009/10 season Derek Dinger received a contract with the Kassel Huskies . Since the Kassel Huskies did not receive a license for the 2010/11 season due to insolvency proceedings , Dinger got a one-year contract with the DEG Metro Stars .
From August 2012 to May 2014 Derek Dinger played in the DEL for ERC Ingolstadt and scored one goal and five assists in 53 main round games in the 2012/13 season. At the end of the following season he won the German championship with the ERCI . Then the Schwenninger Wild Wings signed Derek Dinger for the 2014/15 season.
He played for the Augsburg Panthers until 2018 and reached the play-off quarter-finals with the Panthers in the 2016/2017 season. On March 2, 2018, he played his 500th DEL game.
