Career

Heinrich training the Kassel Huskies

Alexander Heinrich began his career in the 2004/05 season with the Kassel Huskies in the German Ice Hockey League , after having won the German championship with the Huskies' youth ice hockey team in the previous season . The winger is the son of the Kassel ice hockey legend Herbert Heinrich and this season he was the first to wear the jersey number 5 , which was banned for his father. During the 2006/07 season , in which the Huskies were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga , the left-handed shot switched to ETC. Crimmitschau in the Oberliga , with which he rose to the second division in the same season. In the 2007/08 season , the attacker also completed six DEL missions for Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg .

With the rise of the Kassel Huskies in the 2007/08 season , Heinrich switched back to the Huskies, but this time he did not have his father's shirt number, but the 87, which stands for his year of birth and the year his father's career ended.

In the summer of 2010, Heinrich announced that he would be finishing ice hockey as a professional player due to his community service and his upcoming professional training . He played at EC Bad Kissinger Wölfe in 2010 and has been back with the Kassel Huskies since 2011.
