Gerald Vale "Jerry" Kuhn (born March 20, 1986 in Southgate , Michigan ) is a German-American ice hockey goalkeeper . He has been under contract with the Kassel Huskies since February 2019 .
Player career
Kuhn played in the North American Hockey League and the United States Hockey League before moving to Western Michigan University in 2007 . He played for the "Broncos" for four years and also completed a business degree.
Kuhn made his first experiences as a professional ice hockey player in the ECHL in the 2010/11 season wearing the Idaho Steelheads jersey . Also in the following season 2011/12 he played again for the Steelheads after an interlude with the Greenville Road Warriors .
For the 2012/13 season, Kuhn moved to Europe and signed a contract with the Slovenian club HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , which played in the Austrian Erste Bank Ice Hockey League (EBEL). He stayed with Olimpija for two years and shortly before the playoffs of the 2013/14 season accepted an offer from the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
For the 2014/15 season, Kuhn moved to South Tyrol for HC Pustertal and for the 2015/16 season he moved on to the Fischtown Pinguins from the second-highest German league DEL2 . For the 2016/17 season, Bremerhaven received a gaming license for the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), Kuhn was also part of the Penguins squad in the top German division and reached the playoffs with the team in the first DEL season. He contributed to the success of the penguins with a catch rate of 92.0 percent, he conceded 2.68 goals per game in the main round.
Kuhn left Bremerhaven after the 2016/17 season and moved to the Grizzlys Wolfsburg within the DEL . There he received a total of 64 assignments in the DEL before he was handed over to the Kassel Huskies from the DEL2 in February 2019 in exchange for Marcel Melicherčík .
Inline hockey
At the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship 2013 he won the gold medal with the US national team. A year later he took part with the national team in the world championship in Pardubice and won the bronze medal.
