It was there that Bettahar began playing ice hockey with Podhale Nowy Targ as a child . In 2008 he moved to the Jungadler Mannheim and played in the school league. For the next season he went to EC Bad Nauheim in the youth Bundesliga. For the 2010/11 season he returned to the young eagles and played in the German junior league . In 2011 he joined the EC Red Bull Salzburg youth program . After two years in Austria , he moved to the Löwen Frankfurt in the league for the 2013/14 season . In the playoffs he finally played in the league and contributed with three goals and two assists to the championship and promotion to the DEL2 . Then he switched to the Füchsen Duisburg . Bettahar scored 42 points scorer in 51 games. With the Foxes, he just missed promotion when they only lost in the fifth game of the Oberliga playoff final against EHC Freiburg . Bettahar extended his contract by a year and was first in the table with Duisburg after the main round, but then retired early in the playoffs.

In May 2016, the Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League announced the commitment of Bettahar. He signed a three-year contract. In November 2016, Bettahar was loaned to SC Riessersee in the DEL2 to gain match practice. After eight games in which he scored seven points, he returned to Iserlohn in December 2016.
