Positions

In March 2014, Kissler defended Sibylle Lewitscharoff's Dresden speech from its critics.

Regarding the reporting on the former Limburg bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst , Kissler wrote in 2013 of a “Hatz auf Tebartz” and saw it as a “concerted action by the inner-church and anti-church critics, both in the media”. According to Kissler, the building costs of a diocesan center that got out of hand are only useful as a “provincial farce”.

When the then Freiburg Archbishop Robert Zollitsch criticized the AfD on the occasion of the 2013 federal election , Kissler saw the bishop's mandate exceeded in this statement. This should not give any judgments about individual parties during election campaigns. Kissler pleaded for the AfD to be treated with “democratic composure”. In the past, "too quickly a wedge that was too wide was pulled out and everything was beaten by the discourse field that was not at five on the tree of right sentiments".

In his book Pope in Contradiction , published in March 2013 . Benedict XVI. and his church 2005-2013 , Kissler characterizes the resigned Pope as an introverted “mystic from insight” and a radical nonconformist. He described Pope Francis as a "corpulent charmer" who appears increasingly as a "power-conscious, talkative and relatively disinterested in the Catholic relativist" and "struggles with a commitment to the need for salvation of Christ", which is why, according to Kissler's expectation, he is "a spiritually emaciated and insecure church" will be left behind.
