Alexander PF Ehlers

Alexander Paul Friedrich Ehlers (born August 2, 1955 in Berlin ) is a specialist lawyer for medical law and a specialist in general medicine .

Life

As the son of the doctor and clinic director Paul Nikolai Ehlers (1920–2007) and his wife Beate Ehlers (née Hussels, died 1964), he attended the Carl Duisberg Grammar School in Wuppertal , which he graduated from high school in 1974. This was followed by studying medicine and law in Düsseldorf , Heidelberg and Munich . At the suggestion of the Health Policy Working Group of the CSU (GPA), he was set up as a Bundestag candidate for the CSU for the 2017 federal election .

CV in medicine

He obtained his license to practice medicine in Munich in 1980 and his doctorate in medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf in 1981. After initially taking over the practice from 1981 to 1983, he worked in his own practice from 1982 to 1999. In the last nine years of this time he was involved in professional politics:

  • Member of the board and delegate of the Medical District Association (ÄKBV) Munich from 1990 to 1998;
  • Member of the commission for professional supervision and the commission for mediation of the ÄKBV from 1990 to 1998;
  • Substitute member of the German Medical Association from 1990 to 1994;
  • Federal Chairman of the Young Doctors in the NAV-Virchow-Bund from 1991 to 1996;
  • Shop steward of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Bavaria (KVB), Munich district office, and member of the Representative Assembly of the KV Bavaria from 1991 to 1999;
  • Member of the “Quality-Based Performance Auditing” “Services” and “Emergency Ambulance” commissions of the KVB, Munich District Office, from 1992 to 1999;
  • Chairman of the “Terra-TV investigation committee” of the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians from 1995 to 1996;
  • Chairman of the Contract Committee of the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians from 1995 to 1997;
  • Army doctor of the Medical Training Battalion 851 in Munich;
  • since 2006 member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Sanitary and Health Care at the Federal Ministry of Defense - "Military Medical Advisory Board";
  • Member of the academy council of the Bundeswehr Medical Academy .

Curriculum vitae in law

He obtained his doctorate in law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 1986. From 1984 to 1987 he was a research assistant to Horst Schüler-Springorum , Professor of Criminal Law , Criminal Procedure Law and Criminology at the Institute for All Criminal Law Studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. He has been a lawyer since his admission in 1987. He has been a specialist lawyer for medical law since 2005. In addition, he teaches at various universities and gives lectures in the field of medical, pharmaceutical and health law:

  • Lecturer in forensic psychiatry , Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Faculty of Law, winter semester (WS) 1987/1988;
  • Lecturer in medical law (criminal law with special consideration of interdisciplinary medical and pharmaceutical law aspects), Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, Faculty of Law, WS 1989/1990 to WS 2005/2006;
  • Associate lecturer in the context of the teaching position “Medical Law” of the German Society for Medical Law at the medical faculty of the Technical University of Dresden , summer semester (SS) 1992;
  • Lecturer at the GMT Gesundheitsakademie GmbH, degree course in health economics, Oestrich-Winkel , since 1996;
  • Lecturer in “Management of Outpatient and Integrated Medical Care” at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg , 2001 to 2007;
  • Honorary professor for medical law and health care systems at the EBS University of Economics and Law , Executive MBA Health Care Management, module: Law, Oestrich-Winkel, since 2004.
  • Founder and from 1997 to 2012 Managing Partner of the Conférence Bleue European Lawyers' Conference on Pharmaceutical and Health Care Affairs.
  • 1997 to 1999 Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Federal Managed Care Association (BMC)
  • 1997 to 2010 Managing Director of the Federal Association of Resident Cardiologists (BNK).
  • Since 2007 director of the Health Care Management Institute (HCMI) at the EBS University of Economics and Law .

  • 2002 German Doctor Law Award.
  • 2004 honorary member of the Federal Managed Care Association (BMC).
  • 2011 winner of the German Armed Forces Cross of Honor in silver.
  • 2016 Honorary President of the Society for Law and Politics in Health Care (GRPG), which he headed from 1994 to 2015.
  • In 2020, both the District 1842 Nominations Committee and the Rotary International Board of Directors, led by World President Mark Maloney, approved the nomination of Alexander Ehlers as governor for 2022/23. He is continuing a Rotarian family tradition. His father, Paul Nikolai Ehlers , was Governor of District 1810 in 1987/88.
