Alexander Schadow
Alexander Schadow (born November 27, 1958 ) is a German painter , graphic artist and art therapist .
Life
Alexander Schadow is a great-nephew of Hans Schadow . He studied "Free Art" with Tarek Marestani and at the Free Academy Hamburg . He has been working as a freelance artist since 1983. He is the owner of a private practice for "psychological counseling and art therapy". He lives and works in Nienhagen near Celle . From 1991 to 2002 he was state chairman of the IG-Medien- Fachgruppe Bildende Kunst (since 2001 United Service Union ) in the state district of Lower Saxony-Bremen and a member of the state district board of IG Medien. From 2003 to 2018, Alexander Schadow was co-founder and managing director of the Institute for Art and Therapy Potsdam - Art Therapy Academy. Since 2018 he has been a board member of the ASCOL College. Since 1995 he has been a member of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland. Since 2018 he has been President of the International Society of Anthroposophic Naturopathy ISAN based in Dornach, Switzerland.
As a graphic artist, he created numerous series on literature, including on Heinrich Heine , William Shakespeare , Johann Wolfgang Goethe , Henrik Ibsen , Muhammad Iqbal and the stories by Naguib Mahfuz . In his painting he is considered a representative of Concrete Art . Schadow received a grant from the German Foreign Office in 1993 .
