Alexander Valerjewitsch Pereschogin ( Russian Александр Валерьевич Пережогин ; born August 10, 1983 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HK Avangard Omsk in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Pereschogin was selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Montréal Canadiens as number 25 in the first round. He had previously started his professional career in 1999 with the Russian superleague club HK Awangard Omsk , to which he remained loyal until the end of the 2002/03 season before he was signed by the Canadiens for the following season.
First, he played for the AHL - farm team , the Hamilton Bulldogs . This season he scored 50 points in 77 games, but returned to his home club in Omsk for the 2004/05 season due to an incident in the AHL playoffs on the advice of Montreal's general manager Bob Gainey . In summer 2005 he moved back to North America and ran in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 playing years for the Montreal Canadiens. In his first game he also scored his first goal. On May 8, 2007 he signed a contract with Salawat Yulayev Ufa, for which he played from 2007 to 2010 - first in the Superliga and from the 2008/09 season in the newly formed Continental Hockey League . In the 2007/08 season he was Russian champion with Ufa .
For the 2010/11 season he returned to his ex-club HK Awangard Omsk within the KHL and played there until 2019.
