Alexander Wedler (born June 25, 1971 in Nordhausen ) is a former German volleyball player .

Wedler was trained at the GDR top club SC Leipzig and played from 1992 at the German champions Moerser SC , with whom he won the DVV Cup in 1993 . In 1998/99 he played in the Belgian league for HVB Zonhoven . Then the outside attacker moved to Italy and played one season each with the second division side Sarplast Livorno and Codyeco Lupi Santa Croce . In 2001 Wedler returned to the German Bundesliga and played at VC Bottrop 90 and, after its relegation in 2002, at VV Leipzig . From 2003 to 2006 he let his career end in his hometown with regional league club SVC Nordhausen .

Wedler also played in the German national team from 1995 to 2000 , with which he missed the Olympic qualification twice.
