The 1973 Asian Basketball Championship (officially: FIBA Asia Championship for Men 1973 ) was the 7th edition of this tournament and took place from December 1 to December 15, 1973 in Manila , Philippines . It was organized by FIBA Asia , the Asian basketball association. 12 teams took part in this tournament. The winner qualified for the 1974 World Basketball Championship .
