The 1970 Asian Women's Basketball Championship (officially: 1970 Asian Championship for Women ), the third women's Asian Basketball Championship , took place between October 30 and November 11, 1970 in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia , which was the first to host the championship . The winner was the team from Japan , which won the Asian women's championship for the first time undefeated. For the first time teams from Vietnam and India took part in the tournament.

The game was played in the form of a round-robin tournament . Each team played against the other teams exactly once (thus nine games per team). There were two points for each win and one point for a defeat. The team with the most points became women's basketball Asian champions in 1970.
