The 1960 Asian Basketball Championship (officially: FIBA Asia Championship 1960 ) was the first Asian Championship in Asia and took place from January 16 to 28, 1960 in Manila , Philippines . It was organized by FIBA Asia , the Asian basketball association.
In the preliminary round, seven teams played each against each other. The winner of a game received two points, the loser one point.
