The Indian national basketball team for women is the selection of Indian female basketball players that the Basketball Federation of India represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest success was the fifth place at the Asian Cup 2013. In 1936 the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In November 2013, the team was ranked 40th in the world for women .
