The Chinese national basketball team for women is the selection of Chinese female basketball players that the Basketball Association of the People's Republic of China represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest successes were winning the silver medal at the Olympic basketball competitions in 1992 and the 1994 World Cup . In 1974 the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In November 2013, the team was ranked eighth in the world rankings for women as the best Asian team .
