The North Korean national basketball team for women is the selection of North Korean women basketball players that the Amateur Basketball Association of DPR of Korea represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest successes were participation in the 1959 World Cup and qualifications for the 1990, 1999 and 2005 Asian Championships . In 1947 the national association joined the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In November 2013, the team was not included in the world rankings for women .
