Alexandru Mihăiță Chipciu (born May 18, 1989 in Brăila ) is a Romanian football player . He has been under contract with the Romanian club CFR Cluj since January 2020 .

Career

society

In 2006 Chipciu came into the squad of the first team of FC Brașov , which played in Liga II . In the first two years he was only used irregularly and thus had only a small share in the rise in 2008 . In order to collect match practice, he was loaned to the local rivals Forex Brașov in the summer of 2008 , after the club's withdrawal to his home club CF Brăila in Liga III . In the summer of 2009 he returned to Brașov, but was only used for the first time on matchday 31 of the 2009/10 season . In the 2010/11 season he was able to fight for a regular place.

Steaua Bucharest

In the winter break 2011/12 Chipciu left Brașov and moved to record champions Steaua Bucharest . There he won his first title with the championship in 2013 . He and his team were able to repeat this a year later . He missed winning the double due to a defeat on penalties in the cup final against Astra Giurgiu .

RSC Anderlecht

For the 2016/17 season he was signed by the Belgian record champions RSC Anderlecht . The midfielder signed a four-year contract. In the 2018/19 season he was loaned to Sparta Prague for one year . At the end of the year, Prague did not make use of its purchase option, so Chipciu was again part of the RSC Anderlecht squad for the 2019/20 season. Until the end of the year he was not on the pitch at any game for Anderlecht.

CFR Cluj

On January 18, 2020 Chipciu moved back to Romania to CFR Cluj in the Romanian top division.

National team

Chipciu was part of the Romanian national team for the first time in the friendly against San Marino on August 10, 2011 when he played half time. Then national coach Victor Pițurcă nominated him again in November 2011. In the friendly against Greece he managed the goal to make it 3-1. Chipciu was then only nominated irregularly. He has been part of the squad since October 2012, but mostly acts as a substitute.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Romanian squad . In the European Championship opening game against France he was a substitute and against Switzerland he was even used for the full season. In the final game against Albania, however, he stayed on the bench. Then the team retired as fourth in the group.
