Alfonso Quaranta (born January 2, 1936 in Naples ) is a former president of the Italian Constitutional Court .

After previously serving in the State Council , he was a judge at the Constitutional Court from January 27, 2004 and its President from June 6, 2011 to January 27, 2013. One of the reasons for the election was that the other two favorites Paolo Maddalena and Alfio Finocchiaro , who are both senior citizens, had already left office in 2011 and a long presidency was favored.
