Ugo De Siervo

Ugo De Siervo (born February 20, 1942 in Savona ) is an Italian lawyer, full professor of constitutional law at the University of Florence and former President of the Italian Constitutional Court .

Life

Ugo De Siervo studied constitutional law at the University of Florence. He completed his studies in 1965 with the top grade. Four years later, he also lectured on constitutional law at his alma mater. In 1972 De Siervo was appointed to the University of Sassari , later he returned to Florence in the same position.

From 1970 to 1974 De Siervo was a member of the Comitato regional di controllo (CORECO) of Tuscany . From 1986 he worked for seven years in the Consiglio superiore della pubblica amministrazione . De Siervo was also in the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali from 1997 to 2001 .

On April 24, 2002 he was elected constitutional judge by parliament. Five days later he took his oath. Since February 25, 2009 he has been Vice President of the corte costituzionale . On December 10, 2010, he was elected President.

In addition to legal issues, he deals with Giorgio La Pira and his concept of democracy.
