Alfred Kramer (* 1965 in Frauenfeld ) is a Swiss jazz musician who plays drums and occasionally brass instruments.

Life and career

Kramer first learned piano before switching to drums at the age of 16. He first played with his brother Luka Kramer and performed in Austria and Germany . With Enzo Pietropaoli and Fabrizio Sferra he formed the Space Jazz Trio , which presented two albums (in which Enrico Pieranunzi was also involved); He also accompanied traveling guest soloists with this band such as Lee Konitz and Phil Woods , with whom sound carriers were also released. In addition, he worked increasingly in Italy in the group of Marcello and Pietro Tonolo , in order to then be active in the Keptorchestra . He has also performed with Chet Baker , Sal Nistico , Joe Lovano , Cedar Walton , Benny Bailey , Art Lande , Steve Lacy , Joe Henderson , Enrico Rava , Massimo Urbani , Barre Phillips , Mal Waldron , Paul McCandless , Art Farmer and Miroslav Vitouš . He lives in Genoa, where he works in the Bansigu Big Band .
