Player career
society
Begeçarslan began with club football in the youth department of Istanbul Akatlarspor and was brought from here in 2001 to the youth department of Beşiktaş Istanbul . In the last match days of the 2000/01 season he was accepted into the professional squad by head coach Christoph Daum and was also active here in addition to his work for the reserve team. In the league game on May 19, 2001 against Siirt Jet-Pa Spor , Begeçarslan was substituted on by Daum in the 83rd minute for Tayfur Havutçu , making his debut. In August of the same year he received a professional contract from Beşiktaş. In the coming season he took part in the pre-season preparation camp of the professionals, but Daum did not use him in any competitive match in the 2001/02 season. Begeçarslan's career only continued to develop under Daum's successor Mircea Lucescu . Lucescu used him in five competitive games and Begeçarslan scored four goals in those games. He was declared the match winner by the trade press, especially because of his performances in the game against Samsunspor on the last match day . In this encounter he scored two goals in a 4: 3 away win and became one of the most promising young players in the league. This season, the season of the club's centenary, he and his team were Turkish champions . In addition, his team reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup this season and thus achieved the best club placement in the European Cup competitions. Despite this successful season, he was loaned to league rivals Gençlerbirliği Ankara for the coming season . After he could not convince the head coach Ersun Yanal of his abilities at the capital city , he was sent back to Beşiktaş for the second half of the season. Since this club was going through a troubled time, Begeçarslan could not convince in three league games until the end of the season.
In the summer of 2004 he left Beşiktaş and moved to league rivals Sakaryaspor . With this club he scored five goals in 22 league games and again attracted attention. Since his club had missed relegation in the summer of 2005, Begeçarslan moved to Gençlerbirliği. Here he only stayed one season and then moved on to Antalyaspor within the league . While he was able to achieve five and four goals as a winger at his previous two clubs, he remained goalless in 20 games at Antalyaspor and also fell short of expectations. So he left the club in the summer of 2007 for league rivals Gaziantepspor . After he could not convince here either, his contract was terminated prematurely in April 2008.
For the 2008/09 season Begeçarslan moved with his compatriots Suat Usta and Levent Kartop to the Azerbaijani club Neftçi Baku . Here he only played for one season and then returned to Turkey. After his return he played for half a season each for the second division clubs Hacettepe SK , Kocaelispor and Diyarbakırspor .
After he had spent the second half of the 2010/11 season at third division Adana Demirspor , he moved to league rivals Eyüpspor in the summer of 2011 . With the Istanbul team he played for about two seasons and drew attention to himself through a fight against his opponent Serhat Akın from Altay Izmir . After his contract was terminated in March 2013, he remained without a club until January 2014. Then Eyüpspor signed him a second time until the end of the season. In the summer of 2014, Begeçarslan finally ended his career.
