Ali Şen Kandil (born December 10, 1986 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

society

Kandil was born as a descendant of Turkish guest workers in Gelsenkirchen and returned to Turkey with his family as a child. Here they settled in the Turkish port city of Trabzon , which is located on the Black Sea . Kandil started playing club football here in the youth of Trabzon Erdoğduspor . In 1999 he then moved to the Trabzonspor youth team . In the summer of 2002 he was given a professional contract on the directive of the head coach of the professional team Samet Aybaba and was involved in the professional team. He was promoted by Aybaba and completed 23 competitive matches in his first season. At this time he also began to play regularly for the Turkish U-21 national team and was referred to by the specialist press as the new Sergen Yalçın , one of the most popular playmakers of the time. At the end of the season Kandil and his team won the Turkish Cup . In his second season with Trabzonspors professional team, he came to some missions in the second half of the season. But after his sponsor Aybaba left the association in spring 2004, Kandil was only used sporadically by his successors Turgay Semercioğlu and Ziya Doğan . Although the head coach in particular, Doğan Kandil, tried to win several times, he quickly let go of Kandil. Kandil was noticed by indiscipline and tried not to get into the team. The first half of the 2004/05 season he also failed to make the leap into the squad. In order not to give up the player completely, those responsible at Trabzonspor loaned Kandil for the second half of the season to the then partner club Akçaabat Sebatspor . While at Sebatspor, Kandil became a key player in one of the biggest match-fixing affairs in Turkish football. Here Kandil was accused, together with such players as Ogün Temizkanoğlu , Metin Aktaş , Bayram Toysal and Gökdeniz Karadeniz, of having carried out match-fixing during the league game on April 9, 2005 between Sebatspor and Kayserispor . All players in a betting office are said to have bet on the result 0: 0. The Disciplinary Committee, which the Turkish Football Association had commissioned to investigate this betting scandal, found all the accused players guilty and imposed several penalties. Kandil received an eight-month suspension and an additional 10,000 Turkish Lira fine . But Kandil was initially suspended for 12 months. But since he had made a detailed confession, the ban was lowered to eight months. Because the penalties were later appealed, the penalties were not implemented immediately. Instead, the end of the negotiations was awaited. The game bans have been lowered further for almost all players affected. Kandil's suspension was reduced to five months this time. For the season 2005/06 Kandil was loaned to the second division Kocaelispor . With this club he played until the end of the season and then sat from his game suspension. Since the summer break was included, his suspension ended in September 2006.

In the summer of 2006 he left Trabzonspor and moved to the first division club Sakaryaspor . Here he was suspended until the end of September and played in four competitive games until the winter break. In November he was attacked and injured by two unknown people following team training. Kandil remained almost the entire final round without use and only played one more and last time for Sakaryaspor in April 2007.

For the 2007/08 season Kandil only moved to the first division newcomer Kasımpaşa Istanbul . Here, his contract was terminated after about a week and the player released. Kandil then hired the second division Boluspor . Kandil's breakthrough also failed to materialize with this club. Instead, he was more likely to attract attention with his private escapades. One night when he was drunk and tried to break into the Boluspor training ground, he broke several windows and was arrested. Thereupon the club board suspended Kandil from the squad and dissolved his contract for the winter break 2007/08.

In spring 2007 Kandil moved to the second division İstanbulspor and played here until the end of the season. After the club president of Istanbulspor Kandil and his teammate Hakan Korkmaz accused of match-fixing, the Turkish Football Association opened an investigation. Both players were accused of match-fixing against Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor on March 9, 2008 . The Disciplinary Committee imposed a one-year ban on both players and a fine of 20,000 Turkish Lira.

In March 2010, Kandil was arrested again on suspicion of match-fixing.

After Kandil stayed away from football for a long time, he agreed for the 2011/12 season with fourth division club Kilimli Belediyespor . After half a season he moved within the league to Kahramanmaraşspor . In his first season for Kahramanmaraşspor, the fourth division season 2011/12 , he succeeded with his team as a playoff winner in the TFF 2nd Lig to rise. In the 2nd Lig you ended the season as champions and rose for the second time in a row. This time in the second highest Turkish league, in the TFF 1st Lig . Aydoğan completed almost all league games for his team. While Kandil played four games in the first season, he did not play a game in the second season. In summer 2013 he left Kahramanmaraşspor.
