Location of the Allach-Jun in the catchment area of the Aldan |
The Allach-Jun ( Russian Аллах-Юнь ) is a 586 km long right tributary of the Aldan in northeast Siberia ( Russia , Asia ).
course
The Allach-Jun flows at an altitude of about 1070 m from the Amparyndscha ( Ампарынджа ) mountain lake in the southeastern foothills of the Verkhoyansk Mountains , which in turn is fed by the Donscha ( Доньжа ) river, about 35 kilometers long . It flows in a predominantly southwestern direction in a narrow valley along the northwestern edge of the Judoma Maja highlands , east of the Sette Daban ridge. The river cuts through the Ulachan Bom ridge , reaches the plain where it forms a multitude of arms, and finally flows into the Aldan at a height of 146 m about 20 kilometers southwest of the settlement of Eldikan . The Allach-Jun is about 150 meters wide and two meters deep near the mouth; the flow rate is 1.6 m / s.
The source river Donscha has its source in the Khabarovsk region , Lake Amparyndscha and a few kilometers of the Allach-Jun upper reaches form the border between the Khabarovsk region and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) , and in the further course the river flows exclusively on the territory of Sakha.
The most important tributaries of the Allach-Jun are the Sachara (length 148 km) from the right and the Antscha (173 km) from the left.
Hydrography
The catchment area of the Allach-Jun covers 24,200 km².
The Allach-Jun freezes between mid-October and the second half of May. Not far from the estuary, the mean water flow is 172 m³ / s with a minimum of 0.8 m³ / s in March and a maximum of 559 m³ / s in June.
Infrastructure and economy
The lower and middle reaches of the Allach-Jun are navigable when the water level is high.
The area through which the Allach-Jun flows is generally very sparsely populated; in the area of the middle reaches and some tributaries, however, there are several gold prospecting settlements ( Allach-Jun , Svjosdotschka , Solnetschny ) with a total of around 1500 inhabitants (2010). However, the number of inhabitants has fallen sharply due to the gold mining in this area, which has since come to a virtual standstill due to the economic crisis of the 1990s (from around 8,000 inhabitants in 1989).
North of Solnetschny, the 300-kilometer-long unpaved road that leads from Eldikan am Aldan to Jugorjonok an der Judoma crosses the river on a concrete bridge. The bridge has already been destroyed or damaged several times by floods, most recently in May 2008. A road that branches off further west reaches the upstream settlement of Allach-Jun.
