Aloe lomatophylloides is a species of aloes in the subfamily of the Affodilla family (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet lomatophylloides is derived from the name of the genus Lomatophyllum and from the Greek word -oides for 'similar'.

Vegetative characteristics
Aloe lomatophylloides grows with a prostrate, short, 3 to 4 centimeter thick trunk. The lanceolate to sword-shaped leaves form a dense rosette . The dark green leaf blade is 50 to 75 inches long and 8 inches wide.
Inflorescences and flowers
The upright inflorescence has two to three branches and reaches a length of 10 to 12 centimeters. The rather dense grapes are cylindrical. The lanceolate bracts have a length of 1.5 to 4 millimeters. The orange-red flowers are on stems 20 to 23 millimeters long . They are 14 to 21 millimeters long and narrowed at their base. Above the ovary , the flowers are slightly narrowed and finally expanded towards the mouth. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 5 to 10 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus do not protrude from the flower.

Systematics and distribution
Aloe lomatophylloides is on to Mauritius belonging to Rodrigues Island endemic.
The first description by Isaac Bayley Balfour was published in 1877. A synonym is Lomatophyllum lomatophylloides (Balf.f.) Marais (1975).
