The Alpenrosenhütte in the Zillertal (also called Alpenrose-Wirtshaus ) is a privately run refuge in the Zillertal Alps in Austria .

The Alpenrosenhütte is located at 1878  m above sea level. A. in the Zemmgrund near the Waxeggalm in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park . The hut is located below the Berliner Hut and near the Berliner Höhenweg . In the vicinity there are several three-thousand-meter peaks and the Schwarzensee at an altitude of 2,472  m .

Below the hut there is a weir that dams the Zemmbach . The water is led through a tunnel under the Schönbichl and Großer Greiner to the Schlegeis reservoir.

Access and transitions

Access to the hut through the Zemmgrund is from Gasthaus Breitlahner near Ginzling in around two and a half hours of walking. The hut can be reached via the “Berliner Höhenweg” from the Furtschaglhaus via the highest point of the “Berliner Höhenweg”, the Schönbichler Horn .
