Alphonse Pierre Nudant (born December 15, 1861 in Serrigny , Yonne department , † January 15, 1952 ) was a French general.

Military career

In 1911 Nudant rose to Lieutenant Colonel , on December 23, 1913 he took over the leadership of Artillery Regiment No. 4, with which he stood on the Western Front at the beginning of the First World War . Between September 12 and November 21, 1914 he served as Chief of Staff of the 4th Army . On June 21, 1915, he took over as Brigadier General and successor to Marie Émile Fayolle in command of the 70th Division , which was in the Artois and was used in the autumn battle of Arras in the Carency area. Nudant was promoted to division general in 1916 and took over the leadership of the XXXIII on February 26, 1916. Army corps deployed in the Sainte-Menehould area and later near Toul . From mid-August 1916, his corps was thrown into the summer battle , his troops fought south of the Somme near Barleux and Blaches.

On October 6, 1916 he was given a new command, he took over the XXXIV until the end of the war. Army Corps.
